Pastor David’s Weekly Devotional
On November of 1873, Horatio Spafford was unable to sail out on the French liner “SS Ville du Havre” with his wife and four kids due to business commitments in Chicago which had been ravaged by the Great Fire (where he had lost everything). He told them goodbye and promised to meet them in France in a few weeks. Several days later, however, at two o’clock in the morning on November 22, 1873, the luxury liner was rammed by an English iron sailing vessel.
