 One of the more unnerving experiences a Christian can have, comes when they have doubts about God or about their salvation.  This harrowing feeling can assault even the most mature Christian.  For example, after the great victory at Mount Caramel (1Kngs.18:20-40), the faithful prophet Elijah hid in a cave fearing the wrath of Jezebel and doubting the sovereignty of God (1Kngs.19:1-10).  On many occasions Jesus rebuked His apostles for their fears, worries, and doubts (Matt.6:30; 8:26; 14:31; 16:8; 17:20), and they infamously doubted His resurrection (Lk.24:36-43).  Even the great John the Baptist, when he was imprisoned by Herod Antipas, had a moment of confusion or doubt about Jesus as the Christ (Matt.11:1-6).
