 Spiritual growth does not happen by osmosis, and spiritual maturity is no accident.  We simply cannot afford to allow ourselves to be conformed to the patterns of this world (Rom.12:1-2).  In the words of renowned Christian author Jerry Bridges (1929-2016), we need to “preach the Gospel to ourselves every day” (see Jn.3:16-18; Rom.10-12, 23; 5:1-8; 6:23; Eph.2:5-10).
