“In 1997, the Chicago Bulls were soundly defeating the Atlanta Hawks when Atlanta coach Lenny Wilkins sent in Eldridge Recasner, known for his three-point play-making ability. Recasner did his job, immediately hitting two three-pointers.
The next time he came down the floor, he looked up and saw Michael Jordan guarding him. “What are you doing here?” Recasner asked. Michael didn’t smile. He simply responded, “I’m here to stop you.” Recasner missed four of his next five shots” (Gary L. Thomas, The Glorious Pursuit, 115).
