 During the past few weeks, I have been writing about prayer – specifically excuses we use to not pray, and reasons the Bible gives that we ought to pray.  For the next couple of weeks, I want to examine different ways to pray.  But first let me offer this caution: a great danger lies in teaching someone how to pray.  For if we are not careful, prayer can become ritualistic, mechanistic and legalistic.   With that grave danger in mind, I want to offer some ways to pray that can protect us from falling into some irreligious or heartless habit of prayer.
