Confession is not merely the admission of wrongdoing, it is falling before the Lord in humility and contrition – knowing that we have sinned against Him, are deserving of divine punishment, and can find forgiveness in Him alone.  Quite literally the word “confession” denotes a heart-wrenching honest conversation with God about His utter holiness and our utter sinfulness.
