As we have seen over the last several weeks, the book of “1 John” is a book of certainties – a short epistle full of “black-and-white” truths. Here is the last one that we will look at in this series.
1. We need to know that Jesus Christ is the incarnate, one and only, Son of God.
2. We need to know that all humans are sinful and depraved.
3. We need to know that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins.
4. We need to know that salvation (God’s forgiveness) comes only through faith in Jesus Christ.
5. We need to know that rejecting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is a rejection of God.
6. We need to know that those who truly love God seek to obey the commands of God.
7. We need to know that false teachers will attempt to deceive Christians.
8. We need to know that those who truly receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior will be saved.
