Forgiveness can be a bit tricky. Many people presume they are forgiven by God when they are not, while others do not feel forgiven by God even though they are. The former are deceived, and the latter are doubters. God’s forgiveness cannot be earned by one’s goodness or good works. It is freely given to those who, by faith, receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior (see Eph.2:1, 5, 8-10; Col.1:14; 1Pet.2:24; 3:18).
